Welcome to Women’s Club for the 2007-2008 club year! Now is a great time to get involved with our various committees and to have fun while helping others!

Our two biggest fund raisers are the fall auction and the winter craft show. Since our founding in 1963, our club has raised over $380,000 to benefit our community. We’ve done this through the tireless efforts of our hard-working, enthusiastic members, and I’m honored that you have chosen me to serve as your president this year.

We’ve already had a busy summer, which included our sponsorship of Copacabana, the annual Warrick County summer musical. At the Saturday performance, our members served as ushers. If you saw the show, you hopefully also saw our club ad in the program booklet, which featured several members and their daughters ready for action! Our Women’s Club also ran a booth at the National Night Out event on Aug. 7, which was organized by the Warrick County Sheriff ’s Department and held at the Old Lock and Dam park. Lois Light, and Donna Hurm coordinated our presence, and Carol Jones created a wonderful trifold display board that has been used several times now. We offered hand stamps for the kids, M&Ms for everyone and a look at club activities through our scrapbooks and display board. Many thanks to Bonnie Holtz, Karen Grunow and Lou Dennis for organizing our booth! It was a great opportunity to “get the word out” and to meet more Newburgh ladies. The larger our group, the more we can accomplish in our community! As always, please consider bringing guests to our meetings. We have some great speakers planned, so don’t miss your opportunity to have fun, help our community and introduce others to our club.

Looking forward to seeing you at our Sept. 11 meeting at 9:30 a.m. at
Rolling Hills Country Club.
